help with blogging

Need help writing content for your blog or website, but don’t know how or where to start?

The best thing you can do is just start writing. Get it all out. I know, easier said than done, right? Don’t worry, you are not alone. Every year more people get stuck writing blog posts than have trouble with public speaking. Well, I’m not actually sure if that fact is true or not, but what is true is that developing a writing schedule to keep your website up-to-date can be difficult if you don’t have the right tools, support, or desire.

Here are 4 tips that will help you with writing blog or website content

  1. Schedule in time each week to sit down and write. It doesn’t have to be anything lengthy; just get something on the computer or notebook or whatever you prefer to write on. If spelling and grammar are not your thing, no worries, Grammarly has you covered (this is not an ad). If you haven’t heard of Grammarly yet, you should check them out. The plugin will catch the mistakes, so you don’t have to. I use it all the time.
  2. In addition to having a schedule to write, you should have a schedule for posting new content, and stick to it. The more you post, the more Google has to index and the more potential customers you can reach.
  3. Writing is only part of the process. Relevant photos should also be included with a writing piece to help the reader better understand the article. It’s like the saying goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
  4. Which brings me to the last tip: the length. How long should the article or website post be? This is a tricky one to answer because Jon Muller of Google said recently that the word count doesn’t factor into the Google page ranking algorithm. In fact, according to many SEO interpretations, while the word count doesn’t directly affect the page rank, the quality of the article does. For example, a short 350-word article could outrank a similar article with 1500 words, providing that the 350-word article is well written and adequately answered a question.
